Job Description
Help Lead and Support Dietary Services That Make a Difference Opportunity Living is seeking a motivated and organized Dietary Support Supervisor to oversee dietary operations across our residential homes serving individuals with disabilities. This position plays an important leadership role in ensuring meals are prepared safely, correctly, and according to physician orders, dietary guidelines, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, coaching staff, staying organized, and ensuring quality service for the individuals we support. What We Offer Competitive pay Health, dental, and vision insurance 401k retirement Paid time off Holiday pay Stable full-time schedule Supportive team environment Meaningful work that impacts lives daily Opportunities for continued education and certifications Job Responsibilities Dietary Oversight & Quality Assurance Oversee cooks across all residential homes Ensure meals are prepared according to approved menus and physician orders Conduct quality assurance checks on meal preparation and service Ensure dietary modifications and texture-modified diets are followed correctly Support IDDSI compliance and safe food preparation practices Assist with coverage for cook call-ins as needed Staff Supervision & Training Supervise, train, and support dietary staff Ensure cooks maintain required food safety certifications Assist with onboarding and training new cooks Provide coaching and corrective feedback when needed Support direct care staff training related to food handling and meal preparation Menu Coordination & Inventory Coordinate weekend meal and snack menus Monitor inventory and assist with ordering food and supplies Ensure proper food storage and rotation practices Help maintain consistency in meal quality and portioning Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards Monitor required temperature and safety logs Maintain or obtain ServSafe Manager Certification Participate in inspections, audits, and corrective action follow-up High School Diploma or GED required Previous cooking experience required Healthcare, dietary, or group home experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices IDDSI knowledge preferred or willingness to learn Must obtain or maintain ServSafe Manager Certification Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Must have a sincere desire to work with individuals with disabilities Must pass required background checks and trainings
