Job Description
To facilitate nutritional care monitoring in a collaborative effort with representatives from interdisciplinary teams on all patient/resident care units. To facilitate the development, maintenance, and standardization of approaches to nutritional care. To coordinate and conduct a nutritional care service which meets patient's/resident's needs for special diets and accommodates altered diet schedules.
Assesses patient's/resident's nutritional status according to established standards. Develops nutritional care plans for patients/residents of all ages served including child and adolescent, geriatric, and adult patients/residents.
Develops nutritional plans based on the cultural orientation of the patient/resident. Evaluates the results of nutritional intervention on the patient's/resident's nutritional status to determine the need to revise the nutritional plan of care.
Improves patient's/resident's nutritional status by consulting with physician on appropriate nutritional interventions.
Assists in developing and implementing patient/resident nutrition care programs and ensures consistency of programs.
Provides nutritional counseling.
Provides nutrition-drug interrelationship information to physician.
Assists in orienting and in-servicing new employees to department. Provides CBRF approved training.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Conducts in-services as requested to hospital staff and the community.
Treats patients/residents and their families with respect and dignity.
Role models safe practices.
Follows the established policies and procedures. Meets the professional requirements of the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates the knowledge of proper identification and reporting medical/health care errors. Protects the patient/resident in the event of a medical health care error and as appropriate, assists in medical/health care error resolution.Assesses patient's/resident's nutritional status according to established standards. Develops nutritional care plans for patients/residents of all ages served including child and adolescent, geriatric, and adult patients/residents.

QualificationsSkill, Knowledge and Abilities:
Good organizational, verbal, and written skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all other members of the treatment team.Education:
Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. Masters degree (if accredited in 2024 or later).Licensure:
Certified Dietitian in the state of Wisconsin; Registered Dietitian through theAcademy of Nutrition and Dietetics Experience:
