X Facebook Pinterest Copy Link WhatsApp Email Share Share this job Facebook X LinkedIn Email Digital Sculptor Warren, MI Apply for this job Digital Sculptor (Alias Modeler) GM - Warren Technical Center $60-65/hr, OT eligible, full benefits package Long-term contract Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Sculptor to support the development of automotive exterior and/or interior surfaces using Autodesk Alias. This role is responsible for translating design intent into high-quality Class-A surfaces, partnering closely with studio designers, engineering, and cross-functional teams to bring vehicle concepts to life. This is a precision role—if they don't obsess over surfaces, they're not your person. Key Responsibilities Create and develop high-quality Class-A surfaces using Autodesk Alias for automotive exterior and/or interior components. Translate 2D sketches and design concepts into 3D digital models with a high level of aesthetic and geometric accuracy. Collaborate with studio designers to refine form, proportion, and surface quality. Work cross-functionally with engineering, packaging, and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and design intent alignment. Evaluate and refine surface continuity (G0/G1/G2/G3) to meet Class-A standards. Support design reviews by preparing and presenting digital models and visualizations. Iterate quickly based on feedback while maintaining design integrity. Maintain data quality and organization within PLM systems and digital modeling environments. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in digital sculpting/modeling within automotive or transportation design. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Alias (Class-A surfacing). Strong understanding of surface development, continuity, and automotive design standards. Ability to interpret sketches, renderings, and design direction into high-quality 3D surfaces. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an OEM automotive studio environment. Familiarity with ICEM Surf, Blender, or other 3D modeling tools. Understanding of engineering constraints, tooling, and manufacturability. Experience supporting both exterior and interior surface development. Degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field. Work Environment Studio and digital modeling environment with high collaboration across design and engineering teams.
