Bistro and Front-Line StaffJOB SUMMARY
Coordinates and directs all facets of Dining Services during Production hours. Includes supervision of staff, monitors all dining rooms, oversees preparation of food and acts as communication point for Dining Services Department and other duties assigned by Manager.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, LICENSURE
1. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required. 2. Previous supervisory experience in Food Service preferred. 3. Certified Food Service Manager in Sanitation preferred. 4. Computer literacy preferred.JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Support the mission and purpose of SVWC. 2. Support the Board of Trustees and Administration. 3. Present a professional, caring image. 4. Employment and annual Tuberculosis testing as required by Virginia State Licensure. 5. Strongly encouraged to be up to date withCOVID 19
vaccinations. 6. Must attend annually mandatory in-services required by the State Licensure and all other mandatory in-services and/or meeting required by other regulatory agencies and/or by SVWC. 7. Follows and supports the policies and procedures established by SVWC. 8. Promotes positive language and culture change understanding for all older adults.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinates, trains and directs the work of all staff. 2. Provides program guidance daily to all DS staff in all service points to ensure SVWC DS standards are met. 3. Monitors preparation and service of all food for quality, quantity and temperature at lunch and dinner. 4. Circulates in all the dining service venues during mealtimes to optimize resident satisfaction. 5. Works w/DS management team to work as both and opening and closing supervisor. 6. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and SVWC policies and procedures. 7. Maintains all FOH required audits for DS. 8. Communicate with other Dining Services Supervisory staff daily. 9. Completes bi-weekly schedule for Bistro, Care, Tavern and MDR in coordination with managers. 10. Document Training and Performance Issues 11. Address Resident Complaints and Service recovery in real time. 12. Updates menus and Point of Sale system as necessary. 13. Work w/DS management team to ensure proper opening, daily and closing operational standards are adhered to by DS staff. 14. Must be dressed in appropriate and complete uniform which is neat and clean. 15. Work w/FOH DS management to ensure all catered events are 100% up to expected standards. 16. Participate in Management meetings and contribute to department strategy 17. Other duties as assigned.AUTHORITY

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Must be able to respond and communicate orally by telephone. LIFTING
- Must be able to push and maneuver carts/stretchers/space savers loaded with weights of 10 pounds.
- Heavy lifting required (over 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds repetitively from ground level shoulder height.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
- Must be able to use, operate and interpret information form equipment in work area. SPEECH
- Must be able to verbally communicate in the English language directly and over the telephone and be understood.
RANGE OF MOTION
- Must have mobility for all parts of the body, walking, bending, lifting, reaching above head and use of hands.
- Must be able to kneel or squat for 4 of an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to walk continually for 7 hours.
- Must be able to stand and/or mobilize by walking for 98% of an 8 hour shift.
- Some tasks may require sitting for 2% of the workday.
- Must have manual dexterity, fine motor skills (typing, computer, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May be required to work near or with voltages (up to 480 volts AC.)
- May have to work in hot (over 90 degrees F) or cold (under 0 degrees F) environment.
- Must be able to work under stress.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Must be able to work a rotating shift.
- Must be able to work "on call."
- Must be able to deal with verbally and physically combative residents.
- Must be able to utilize or wear protective equipment or apparel in accordance with OSHA standards.
MENTAL CAPACITY
- Must have mental capacity to fulfill the requirements of the job including problem solving, logic, communication and numerical calculations.
- Must be able to read and understand written instructions in English.
- Accurate recall and memory.
- Must be able to use judgment in making decisions and choices.
- Ability to analyze numbers and make basic mathematical calculations.
