Direct Support Professional ($20 Hourly)

Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence. Implement behavior management strategies to support positive behaviors and address challenging behaviors effectively. Support communication efforts using techniques such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication methods. Facilitate participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events to enhance social skills and community integration. Collect data on progress, behaviors, and service delivery to ensure accurate documentation and support planning. Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medication administration records. Provide transportation to appointments, activities, or employment using personal or agency vehicles when necessary. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or in special education settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations of people with disabilities in home or community care environments. Strong communication skills, including experience with behavioral health and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with assisting clients with ADLs and caregiving responsibilities in a compassionate manner. Knowledge of data collection methods related to social work or behavioral health services. Experience driving safely in various conditions is a plus; valid driver's license required.
