Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives while promoting their independence and well-being. You will work closely with residents in a group home setting, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Support residents in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through individualized care plans. Observe and document residents' behaviors and progress, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Facilitate social and recreational activities to enhance community integration and engagement. Maintain a safe and clean environment by following health and safety protocols, including CPR and First Aid procedures. Advocate for resident rights and ensure that their dignity is upheld at all times. Perform heavy lifting as necessary to assist residents with mobility or other physical needs. Experience Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and patient observation techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and resident rights is essential. Experience in a group home setting is a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects and assist residents with physical tasks as needed.
