Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans Provide emotional support and companionship to foster trust and promote mental well-being Collaborate with team members, healthcare providers, and families to coordinate comprehensive care strategies Requirements Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care is advantageous Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are required or can be obtained upon hire Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Strong communication skills for working effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude toward caregiving responsibilities Valid driver's license or reliable transportation may be necessary for community-based support roles Join us as a Direct Support Professional and become a vital part of a team committed to enriching lives through dedicated caregiving.
