Salary with benefits Job Summary Carrabassett Valley Academy empowers student-athletes to pursue their dreams by balancing world-class competitive skiing and snowboarding with college-preparatory academics. CVA is a private academy serving grades 7 through postgraduate, located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Student-athletes thrive within a positive, supportive community committed to individualized growth and success at CVA and beyond. CVA seeks an experienced, strategic, and motivated individual to serve as the Director of Development. In this role, the candidate will lead all aspects of fundraising and donor engagement. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Director of Development will lead the planning and execution of a comprehensive advancement program, including the Annual Fund, planned giving, a signature fundraising event, and a long-term strategy for a future capital campaign.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead strategic planning to achieve short-term and long-range fundraising goals. Lead and grow a successful annual giving program (approximately $450,000 annually). Lead in the planning and execution of a future capital campaign. Serve as the school's primary major gift officer. Build and maintain productive relationships with all key prospects and donors. Primary faculty liaison for CVA Parent Support Organization. Increase alumni/parent engagement and giving participation. Manage and mentor direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of non-profit fundraising experience in annual giving, capital campaigns, donor engagement, and events. Proven track record of success in fundraising for annual gifts and capital campaigns. Experience in the solicitation of major gifts. Experience in the development and execution of a multi-faceted development plan. Experience in writing successful grant applications. Experience in managing fundraising events. Ability to manage a small team, work independently, and direct the day-to-day operations of the team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or a comparable CRM database. Flexibility and willingness to travel, including some weekends. A passion for snow sports, New England, and independent secondary education.
Compensation and Benefits:
