Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Director will develop strategic initiatives, manage nursing staff, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster an environment of excellence in resident care and staff development. Duties Provide visionary leadership to nursing staff, promoting a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous improvement. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA, Medicare requirements, and healthcare standards. Supervise the management of medical records, documentation review, and accurate maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) systems. Coordinate staffing schedules across shifts to ensure optimal coverage while managing shift management responsibilities effectively. Lead quality assurance initiatives by monitoring clinical outcomes, conducting audits, and reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on resident assessments involving physiology and anatomy knowledge to optimize care delivery. Manage nursing administration tasks such as supervising nurses and support staff, overseeing training programs, and fostering professional development. Oversee compliance with Medicare regulations related to billing, documentation, and care standards for assisted living, home health, hospice care, or nursing home services. Implement policies that uphold resident safety and promote best practices in nursing management across all departments. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies or hospice care environments with demonstrated leadership in nurse management. Extensive knowledge of nursing practices including acute care procedures, care plans development, MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, and documentation review processes. Strong familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR systems used for medical records management. Management experience supervising nursing staff with a focus on shift management and team leadership. In-depth understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, HIPAA regulations, and Medicare guidelines relevant to senior care settings. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively. Certification as a registered nurse (RN) with active licensure in good standing; additional certifications in healthcare management or leadership are preferred. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and regulatory compliance. $71,533.31 - $86,147.64 per year
