Job Description

Director of Plumbing Standards - Own, Define, and Enforce How Plumbing Is Installed Company‑Wide Lexington, South Carolina Plumbing Solutions, LLC is a fast‑growing, family‑owned company with a strong commitment to excellence, our employees, and the customers we serve. We are hiring a Director of Plumbing Standards to become the single source of truth for how plumbing is installed across all branches. This is not a desk job. This is a field‑driven, high‑authority technical leadership role for someone who knows plumbing installation at a deep level and isn't afraid to enforce standards, stop work, and eliminate variation across the company. The Experience We'd Love To See:
8-15+ years plumbing experience (new construction required) Proven ability to enforce standards in the field Deep knowledge of installation methods (slab, sewer, rough‑in, trim, service, warranty) Strong presence and credibility with field teams Ability to confront issues directly and in real time Plumbing License (or willingness to obtain) Experience training or coaching field teams Experience developing installation standards or
SOPs What You'll Get To Do:
Define Installation Standards Build and maintain all installation methods across slab, sewer, rough‑in, trim, service, and warranty Standardize materials, layouts, and methods across all branches Create clear, field‑usable standards that installers can follow Ensure all standards comply with IPC, IBC, and company requirements Enforce Standards in the Field Conduct active field audits across all branches Stop work immediately when standards are not met Require corrections before work continues Ensure no incorrect work proceeds to cover‑up Work with leadership to ensure training is happening effectively Own the Quality Inspector (QI) System Define QI checklists and pass/fail criteria Train QIs to act as gatekeepers, not observers Audit QI consistency, accuracy, and catch‑rate Solve Field Problems (Final Authority) Be the final escalation point for installation questions, method conflicts, and code vs. standard decisions Provide immediate, clear direction to field teams Communicate effectively with inspectors, contractors, and partners Remove the CEO from technical decision‑making Partner with the Training Systems Manager Define what must be trained Provide updated content and installation methods Validate training effectiveness in the field Close gaps between training and execution Ensure Cross‑Branch Consistency Ensure all branches install the same way Eliminate "this branch does it differently" Standardize best practices company‑wide

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Required 8-15+ years of plumbing experience (new construction required). Proven ability to enforce standards in the field. Deep knowledge of installation methods (beyond code alone). Strong presence and credibility with field teams. Ability to confront issues directly and in real time. Preferred Plumbing License preferred; must be willing to obtain. Experience training or coaching field teams. Experience developing installation standards or SOPs.
