Job Description

May 7, 2026 William S. Hart High School District 21380 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita, CA 91350 Director of Special Programs Internal Only Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, the Director of Special Programs will plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the District's State and Federal categorically funded programs, and provide leadership to implement programs, ensure compliance, use data and metrics to measure effectiveness, and address continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Valid California Administrative Services Credential
  • Master's Degree
  • Minimum of five years of successful and recent experience as a school or district level administrator
  • Demonstrated experience with categorically funded programs, especially for unduplicated student groups
  • Understanding of educational compliance issues, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Proven leadership in the strategic alignment of effective actions with District goals
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the District's work in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Federal Addendum
  • Plan, coordinate, oversee, and evaluate the effectiveness of the District's Title I, II, III, and IV programs and additional Federal and State grants
  • Guide school administrators in the development, submission, and implementation of School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA)
  • Facilitate meaningful engagement with educational partners as required by California Ed Code
  • Oversee the focus and coordination of district-wide professional development
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for the Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) process
  • Participate in compliance and fiscal audits related to State and Federal programs
  • Support schools in multi-tiered systems of supports for students
  • Serve as the District Homeless Liaison as required
  • Provide leadership to the District's ELD program and DELAC committee meetings
  • Provide guidance and leadership to Dual Language Immersion programs
  • Coordinate the annual State Seal of Biliteracy awards
  • Serve on the PAR / Induction panel and steering committee
  • Prepare and present annual reports for the Superintendent and Governing Board on the effectiveness of programs as requested
  • Suggest necessary changes in District policies and regulations related to Special Programs
  • Search out new worthwhile grants and programs as necessary to meet additional needs of students
  • Perform other duties as assigned Salary and Benefits per contract
  • Salary Range:
    $157,109 to $178,530.
