Job Description
Delta Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Rehabilitation Services to lead our inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs. This leadership role oversees Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Rehab Aides, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services while ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and staff development. The Director of Rehabilitation Services works collaboratively with providers, nursing leadership, administration, and interdisciplinary teams to support organizational goals, improve patient outcomes, and promote excellence in rehabilitative care for patients of all ages. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Provide leadership and oversight for all Rehabilitation Services operations, including PT, OT, Speech Therapy, Rehab Aides, and DME services.
Develop and implement departmental goals, strategic initiatives, operational plans, and performance improvement activities.
Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, productivity standards, and operational efficiency.
Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain qualified rehabilitation staff.
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development activities.
Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Participate in leadership meetings, committees, and strategic planning initiatives. Clinical Oversight & Quality Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services.
Support evidence-based practice and monitor patient outcomes and quality metrics.
Maintain compliance with accreditation standards, hospital policies, and federal/state regulations.
Lead quality assurance, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence. Financial & Administrative Management Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets.
Monitor financial performance, staffing utilization, productivity, and resource allocation.
Support documentation accuracy, payer compliance, and revenue cycle integrity.
Assist with long-term planning, equipment needs, and service line growth.
Support outreach and marketing initiatives for rehabilitation services. Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Oversight Oversee DME operations, including inventory management, patient education, fitting, and compliance.
Ensure proper documentation, insurance authorization, and payer compliance processes.
Coordinate with providers and clinical staff regarding DME utilization and patient care needs. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, accreditation, and all federal, state, and local regulations.
Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster response activities.
Promote workplace safety and infection prevention practices. Qualifications Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy program required.
Current Colorado licensure in PT, OT, or Speech Therapy required.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of clinical rehabilitation experience required.
Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Hospital-based rehabilitation experience preferred.
Experience with budgeting, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Knowledge of rehabilitation operations, clinical standards, and healthcare regulations.
Ability to analyze operational and financial data and implement process improvements.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
