Salary and Health & Welfare Benefits are subject to change based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement or Meet-and-Confer agreements depending on job classification. Annual Salary Step Range $119,592.00- $138,636.

Position Description Position Description Position Overview The Director of the First Peoples Native Center (FPNC) provides leadership for programs and services that specifically support the success of Native American students, with a focus on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. Guided by Education Code §79520 and the Native American Student Support and Success Program (NASSSP), the Director consults with local California tribes, oversees the Center's daily operations, and develops culturally grounded programs that affirm Native American identity, histories, and sovereignty. The Director shall also act as a liaison between the community college and local Native American tribes for the creation and implementation of the program. As a campus leader, the Director builds strong partnerships with tribal governments, American Indian and Alaska Native students, and Mt. SAC stakeholders to ensure visibility, respect, and inclusion of Native American voices. This role manages state and grant-funded initiatives, delivers student-centered services such as mentorship, counseling, and career development, and advances the College's Student Equity Plan. The Director works collaboratively with faculty and staff across the campus to promote student retention, persistence, and completion, ensuring that Native American students have the resources and support necessary to achieve their academic and professional goals.- Preference in hiring shall be given to qualified candidates of American Indian or Alaska Native heritage, per Education Code §79520 and the federal Indian Preference Act of 1990.
