We are seeking a conscious, kind groomer who uses a positive reinforcement, fear free approach to connecting with dogs. We are looking for someone who naturally aligns with our mission and values at Happie Doggie to take an integrative trainers approach, nurture dogs overall wellness to be more comfortable, provide quality personalized grooming care, and is a hard worker eager to make an impact on our community by joining a well established and growing company where contribution is appreciated and felt in a positive ripple effect. We are not a "hold down the stressed dog and get it done," type of grooming spa where safety for groomer and dog is at risk. Instead we take a trainers approach to grooming and aim to shape the dogs and change their association with grooming to provide a safer and lower stress grooming environment for our groomers and dogs. The ideal candidate will already embody this same approach, or be eager to dedicate their work to learning animal behavior/wellness deeper with our trainers beyond only excellent grooming skills to have a combo of safe and low stress grooming experience. Remaining a student of life and continuing education in training and grooming is strongly valued and required to grow with Happie Doggie long term. Any hours not grooming, on-site and off site work will be offered for more hours while your grooming calendar fills up to full time. Only available if you are aligned for this area of the business. We believe in our groomers having a trusted bond with the dogs you will groom, and for everyone on our team to have the opportunity to start their day with a walk for mental and physical wellbeing, or take breaks to go for a walk/outside and get fresh air throughout the day. Every groom with a new dog starts with a short bonding walk with the guardian as well to ensure you get to know each other in a way that feels best for the dog. Your safety is achieved through the dogs comfort and trust with you as their friend. Happie Doggie has been around for over 9+ years and was started out of the pure passion of approaching training and care from an integrative/holistic approach to touch the souls of dogs, and transform energy within a household to help families live harmonious lives with peace of mind and joy. We snowballed into adding all types of training, ongoing care, non toxic grooming services, and a holistic wellness market. Happie Doggie is owned by multi-certified professional trainer, Dog Nutritionist, and Integrative Health Coach, Stephanie Gilronan. On completion of training, ongoing maintenance training and care services are offered for long term support to our client community, who also come in for their food and grooming services regularly. We expect our groomers to help clients see the deeper causes of their dogs' itchy skin, gunky ears, hot spots, etc, and discomforts during grooming and have an understanding of what to recommend in our Holistic Wellness Market that can help improve their conditions from the inside out. We believe in quality time (not rushed) with each dog to provide proper coat and skin health care for each dog, and a low stress environment for humans and dogs. In our mostly indoor human world, we've created a safe space to get dogs out in nature daily in a structured way like they were biologically designed to do! Our dogs are calmer, families happier, and life better because of the maintenance training, mental health nourishment, low stress grooming environment, and ongoing care services we provide for our community. Dogs need to tend to their mental health and Integrative health just like humans do, and we provide the space to make this happen within Happie Doggie. We are looking for groomers who will add positive energy and make our community a better place because of your presence. Our grooming services are provided in a calm, earthy environment with large windows letting in natural light, zen music, with a maximum of 1-3 dogs being helped at once between 1 bath tub and 2 tables. We are crateless, and in any waiting time dogs are in a natural home like environment. We use high quality non toxic ingredients, cleaning supplies, have reverse osmosis drinking water, kitchen break room, yard space for you to enjoy in your workdays. We are located in walking distance to parks and encourage taking breaks in your day to get outside.

Job Description:

All Things Related to Grooming, animal behavior, handling, compassionate care, check out customers, booking clients Communicate kindly and concisely with team, clients, dogs Handling dogs through positive reinforcement, fear free approach No hold down methods here, must know or willing to learn how to train dogs in grooming how to develop positive association with grooming and change their emotional state to cultivate a safe environment for both you and the dog Work with dogs of all training levels, energy, behavioral needs, size, ages to begin bonding. Severely sensitive dogs will be scheduled alongside head trainer to provide a safe space and learning opportunities Must be skillful in assisting/lifting dogs into tub if needed independently Be capable of working independently during grooms Be capable of working well in a team as needed, receiving and giving help to team Pick up and drop off grooming clients when booked for this service Clean all spaces on property throughout the day and end of day 100% At end of day to close up and prepare for following day, wash dirty towels and blankets Schedule client appointments Must bring a positive energy to space, we have no tolerance for mean energy If a fit, work on property supplementing grooming hours with on property care and customer care answering phones and walk-ins If a fit, help with food deliveries As needed, help with pick ups, drop offs, walks, or care of animals on property for all services

Requirements:

1+ years grooming experience Certified groomer, attended grooming school 2+ year related experience in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, or teaching a plus Experience connecting with animals through positive reinforcement approach Be aligned and knowledgeable in holistic nutrition and wellness, a plus. Desire to learn is a must as our values are holistic approaches. (for itchy skin, ear gunk etc) to help clients. Alignment in kind, fear free approach is a high priority In Good Physical Health, this is a hands on position Reliable Team Player Drivers license, able to provide driving service

Pass Background Check Hours:

Groomer Compensation Package:

Commission Based for grooming negotiable between 35% commission to 50% with varying skill levels and perks, plus tips (our prices are higher than the average grooming spa with teacups $122.22 and XL $233.33, Short Fur dogs frenchie size $68.88 to Great Danes $150.
