Clair Counties) Part-Time, PRN, Contract Opportunities Available About Us Our Journey Home Services is expanding maternal wellness and community-based support services for pregnant and postpartum individuals throughout Illinois. We are building a compassionate team focused on improving maternal outcomes, supporting healthy pregnancies, and connecting families with resources and education. We are seeking caring, dependable, and motivated Doulas to provide non-medical emotional, educational, and advocacy support during pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and early parenting. Position Summary The Doula will provide culturally responsive support services to pregnant and postpartum clients through education, emotional support, resource navigation, advocacy, and wellness check-ins. This role may work closely with nurses, community health workers, case managers, healthcare providers, and community organizations to support maternal and infant health outcomes. Responsibilities Provide prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum support to clients Educate families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery Assist clients with creating birth plans and preparing for labor and delivery Conduct in-home visits, virtual support, phone follow-ups, and community visits as assigned Provide emotional support and advocacy during pregnancy and postpartum periods Connect families with community resources including WIC, Medicaid, housing, transportation, mental health, and parenting support Document services, client interactions, and referrals accurately and timely Participate in team meetings, trainings, and case coordination activities Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times Support underserved, high-risk, and vulnerable populations with compassion and professionalism Qualifications Certified Doula preferred (DONA, CAPPA, ICEA, Birthworkers of Color, or equivalent) Certification not required for the right candidate willing to complete training Experience working with pregnant or postpartum individuals preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage schedules effectively Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred CPR certification preferred Community health, nursing, social service, or maternal health experience is a plus Preferred Experience Medicaid/MCO maternal support programs High-risk pregnancy support Breastfeeding support Community outreach and resource navigation Trauma-informed care Working with underserved communities Benefits Flexible scheduling Competitive pay Growth opportunities within maternal wellness programs Supportive team environment Training and professional development opportunities Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community Pay Competitive pay based on experience, certification, and role responsibilities Contract and hourly opportunities available Schedule Monday-Friday Weekends as needed Day, evening, and on-call opportunities available Work Location In-person, community-based, home visits, and virtual support To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your experience working with pregnant, postpartum, or community populations.
