Full-Time About Us The Pine Straw Guys is a professional residential pine straw installation company focused on quality work, efficient operations, and strong customer service. Our mininum install is 40 bales. Our average is 100 bales. We are not a typical landscaping company. We operate with systems, scheduling structure, route efficiency, and high standards for workmanship and professionalism. We are looking for a dependable Driver / Team Leader who can help lead daily field operations and eventually take ownership of managing jobs in the field with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will live on Hilton Head Island and have a strong driving history with trailer towing experience. This position serves the island only and will not cross the bridge into Bluffton. The ideal candidate must be able to utilize smart phones/tablets. Time. job assignments, time on job, arrival and departure, and client notification is completed within the Housecall Pro app. Tablet/Phone provided in truck.Position Overview This position combines:
Truck & trailer driving Crew leadership Jobsite management Customer interaction Quality control Physical outdoor work This is not just a labor position. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted field leader within the company. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, calm under pressure, and capable of leading a small crew while maintaining production pace and quality standards. Responsibilities Driving & Equipment Safely operate trucks and trailers daily Transport pine straw, tools, and equipment to jobsites Back trailers into residential properties safely Perform daily vehicle and trailer inspections Keep equipment clean and organized Report maintenance or equipment issues Crew Leadership Lead a small installation crew throughout the workday Maintain production pace and workflow efficiency Train and guide crew members on installation standards Help maintain professionalism and accountability on jobsites Jobsite Operations Review daily work orders and schedules Verify material counts before starting jobs Communicate professionally with customers when needed Ensure jobs are completed properly and efficiently Leave properties clean and professionally finished Quality Control Ensure consistent installation quality Verify proper coverage and clean edges Complete final cleanup and blower work Prevent shortcuts and poor workmanship Requirements Valid driver's license with clean driving record Comfortable towing trailers regularly Ability to work outdoors in heat and varying weather Ability to lift and handle pine straw bales repeatedly Strong work ethic and reliability Good communication skills Leadership mindset and ability to stay organized Ability to work efficiently without constant supervision Preferred Experience Landscaping or outdoor service experience Trailer towing experience Crew leader or foreman experience Experience with blowers or landscaping equipment Compensation & Growth Training Pay Training pay starts at $17/hour during the initial two-week training and evaluation period. Regular pay / bonuses will start after successful completion of your two-week training period. Advancement Opportunities Pay increases are available based on: driving ability leadership capability reliability production consistency successful completion of operational training benchmarks Experienced and dependable team leaders can earn higher pay as responsibilities increase.
