Job Title:
Driver/Shop Helper Job Description We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Driver/Shop Helper. This role is a balanced mix of shop labor and driving duties, providing an excellent opportunity for someone interested in machining or assembly to eventually become an operator. Over time, the candidate may also explore opportunities within our quality department. Responsibilities Perform deliveries and pickups for the machine shop. Procure necessary shipping materials such as plywood, 2x4 lumber, screws, and other supplies. Maintain stock of essential facility items, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, trash bags, and similar products. Complete end-of-week housekeeping tasks every Friday, such as collecting all shop trash and disposing of it in the dumpster, operating the floor sweeper, and using the floor washer to clean the shop floor. Receive training to operate the metal saw for material cutting as needed. Assist with assembly work when requested. Support maintenance personnel with various shop projects. Essential Skills Valid driver's license. Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or mechanical trade is ideal. Professionalism and a willingness to learn. Ability to be coached and learn blueprint reading. Experience with CNC machines, CNC lathe, CNC mill, and CNC operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a machine shop is a plus. Prior driving experience is advantageous. Why Work Here? Employees enjoy a 4.5-day work week, with shifts running Monday to Thursday for 9 hours, and Friday as a 4-hour half-day. A personal rolling workstation is provided for each employee. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of West Boylston, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39520.00
