Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drop Bury Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, burying, and maintenance of underground telecommunication and fiber optic cables. Your expertise will ensure the reliable delivery of high-speed internet, telephony, and network infrastructure services to our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, operate heavy equipment, and contribute to cutting-edge IT infrastructure projects. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bucket trucks, and power tools to safely dig trenches and bury cables according to schematics and project specifications Install, splice, and maintain fiber optic cables, ensuring optimal performance for telecommunication networks Use hand tools and construction equipment to prepare work sites, lay conduit, and secure cable pathways Follow detailed schematics and technical diagrams to accurately route cabling for LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and low voltage systems Climb poles or towers using climbing gear when necessary to access elevated infrastructure or perform maintenance tasks Conduct quality checks on installed cabling systems, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and industry best practices Maintain detailed records of work performed, including cable routes, splicing points, and equipment used Experience Proven experience in field service roles within telecommunications or construction industries Hands-on operation of heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, excavators, or power tools required Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques and telecommunication cabling standards preferred Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage wiring, network infrastructure, and schematics is highly desirable Ability to interpret technical diagrams related to IT infrastructure, network wiring (LAN/Ethernet), telephony systems, and electrical layouts Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety protocols Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot cabling issues or network disruptions efficiently Join us as a Drop Bury Technician and be part of a team dedicated to delivering seamless connectivity solutions!
