Job Description

JOB TITLE
EARLY
CHILDCARE TEACHER
Basic Function:
Under the direction and supervision of the Director and Site Supervisor, the Early Childcare Teacher shall provide direct care and supervision to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in the center.
Experience:
The Early Childcare Teacher shall have at least 12 months of experience in a licensed infant, toddler, and preschool center or comparable group for children under age of 5.
General Description:
The Early Childcare Teacher shall provide direct care and supervision to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in the childcare center.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Early Childcare Teacher shall have completed at least 24 units in Early Childhood Education semester or quarter units related to the care of young children an accredited college or university, 16 GE units, 6 infant and toddler units, and an active and current Child Development Teacher Permit issued by California Teacher Credentialing.
Duties:
Perform classroom routines. To be responsible for the safety and physical being of all children. To ensure that young children are taken to interesting parts of the environment, or have interesting things brought to them. To ensure that personal contact between the caregiver and young children always followed. Caregivers should always sit, engage, and create intentional interactions with all children. To ensure that diapering/toileting, food preparation and feeding areas are separate. To ensure that food preparation, feeding and toilet areas are cleaned after each use. Diaper changing area should be cleaned with water and bleach solution after every change. To follow a regular schedule for cleaning walls, floors and rugs, tables and have a schedule posted. To follow a regular schedule for cleaning. To label all bottles, formulas, food jars with name and date on a daily basis. To make sure infant logs are filled out daily. To keep all children's record. Needs and services forms are in each child's form. To keep all children records up to date To do daily routine health check when child arrives in the center. Complete DRDP within 60 days and 6 months of each child's enrollment Complete all requirements for CACFP Complete daily curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate Other duties as needed.
