Early Childhood Substitute Teacher (PRN/As-Needed) — LeafSpring Schools Substitute / PRN | Louisville, KY | Norton Commons & Eastpoint (Opening Summer 2026) About LeafSpring Schools LeafSpring Schools is a premium early childhood education program where every detail is intentional — from the environments children learn in to the people we hire to guide them. We currently operate Norton Commons and are opening our brand-new Eastpoint location in Summer 2026. We're building a substitute team of teachers who are ready to show up and genuinely connect with children, even on short notice. The Role We're looking for Substitute Teachers to cover classrooms on an as-needed basis across both our Norton Commons and Eastpoint locations — all age groups, Infant through Preschool. We hope you'll step in ready to connect, follow the classroom routines already in place, and help the day feel steady and familiar for every child. If you're someone who can walk into a new room, pick up on the energy quickly, and make a toddler feel like everything is completely fine — we want you on our team. What You'll Do Step into classrooms across age groups (Infant, Toddler, and Preschool) as needed at either Louisville location Follow established classroom routines, transitions, and daily schedules Build quick rapport with children and make them feel safe and seen Communicate warmly with families during drop-off and pick-up Maintain a safe, welcoming classroom environment that reflects LeafSpring's standards Uphold Kentucky childcare licensing requirements at all times What We're Looking For Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or early education setting is strongly preferred Degree, CDA credential, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is a plus Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain Must be at least 18 years of age Flexible availability — this is an on-call role and shifts may be offered with short notice Reliable, calm under pressure, and quick to adapt Genuinely enjoys children and understands the importance of consistency in early childhood Why LeafSpring Be part of a growing program with two Louisville locations Competitive hourly pay Flexible scheduling that works around your life A team that values your time and treats substitutes as real contributors Room to grow into a regular part-time or full-time position as we expand
