Blair Therapies is a regional leader in pediatric therapies, proudly offering services through our Early Intervention, School, and Clinic departments. With a dedicated team of nearly 40 therapists, we are committed to helping children and their families thrive. We are currently seeking a Child Development Specialist/Special Instructor to join our Early Intervention Department , serving children ages birth to three as part of the Pennsylvania Early Intervention program. Job Summary:
The Child Development Specialist/Special Instructor plays a vital role in fostering the growth and development of young children through individualized support plans. This position involves working closely with children and their families in natural environments to implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) that promote developmental progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor IFSPs tailored to the unique needs and strengths of each child and family. Utilize evidence-based strategies to encourage positive behaviors, social skills, and developmental milestones. Support children in activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance independence. Communicate effectively with families, educators, therapists, and other professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care. Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of children and families. Engage children in play-based activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate services. Maintain accurate records and provide families with updates on their child's progress.
Qualifications:
Required:
Early Childhood Certificate. Education or experience in early childhood development, special education, social work, or related fields. Knowledge of behavior management strategies and child development principles. Experience working with individuals with developmental delays, disabilities, or autism is highly desirable. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with families and professionals. Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting children's unique needs. Commitment to delivering services in home- and community-based settings.
Additional Information:
All applicants must meet Pennsylvania state requirements, including clearances (Child Abuse, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance). Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of required background checks and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
