Position Overview:
We are seeking a Logistics Assistant who is passionate about our mission and can bring strong interpersonal and organizational skills to our team. This role involves supporting the distribution and delivery of goods, maintaining warehouse operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
What You'll Do:
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent service to agencies, donors, and clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve any issues that arise in the warehouse or during deliveries with a proactive and positive attitude. Attention to
Detail:
Maintain accurate records and ensure all inventory is properly tracked and organized.
Adaptability:
Be flexible and willing to adjust to changing priorities and tasks as needed.
Leadership:
Supervise and guide volunteers, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
What We're Looking For:
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
Organization:
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a positive team environment.
Initiative:
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Empathy:
Demonstrate compassion and understanding towards the needs of the community we serve.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems and improve processes.
Driving Skills:
Ability to drive a box truck and a forklift.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Working Hours and Travel Requirements:
• Monday through
