Job Description

Atlantic Academy is a small day treatment school for grades K-8th, based out of Camden , and committed to helping the region's most at-risk youth be the best they can be--emotionally, behaviorally, socially, and educationally. Are you interested in making a positive difference with at-risk youth? We are looking for staff to work directly with our students: implementing treatment and educational plans, and teaching social, emotional, and behavioral skills. Staff at Atlantic Academy receive professional development opportunities in innovative practices and approaches in both applied behavior analysis, mental health, behavioral medicine, and education. Staff are encouraged to advance professionally in the fields of applied behavior analysis, social work, psychology and/or education through advancement and supervision opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (or 90 college credits) to make eligible for State of Maine Ed Tech III certification (includes a background check). Interest and ability to work effectively and positively with children with emotional and behavioral impairments. Be capable of engaging in physical leisure/recreational activities with our students. Be committed to honing your own emotion regulation capacities given the sometimes challenging environment that we work in. Current Behavior Health Professional (BHP) Certification is a plus, however certification for BHP can be provided.
