You will help prepare students to transition to career pathways and/or post-secondary education. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to adult learners. Teach English, math, science, and social studies; integrate employability skills including technology and civics as part of the curriculum. Administer assessments and evaluate learner progress. Develop and manage individualized learner study plans. Monitor educational gains, set goals, and track learner progress. Maintain accurate records, including attendance and assessment data. Participate in professional development and required training provided by Literacy Phoenix and the Arizona Department of Education. Travel between Phoenix metro area locations as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned, including substituting, delivering presentations, developing curriculum, and providing administrative support. Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, English, or related field Eligible for or currently holds an Arizona Adult Education Teaching Certificate Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Experience teaching elementary, secondary, post-secondary, and/or adult education Three (3) years of related experience and/or training, or three (3) years of verified experience as a teacher, tutor, or aide in an adult education program or K-12 setting Qualifications Experience teaching basic and secondary education. Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and teaching techniques Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills Experience teaching at all educational fluency levels, including literacy, basic skills, adult education, and test preparation Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, internet use, and electronic communication Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and adapt to different systems and processes Hours and Location 8-hour shift, depending on program requirements, any time between 8 AM and 8 PM Monday through Thursday, and Fridays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at either one of our Learning Centers in the Metropolitan Phoenix Area (Downtown, North, or West).
