Inmate Education Programs Employment Classification:

Part-time, non-benefited, hourly position. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of jail clearance and all required background checks.

Hourly Rate:

$46.10/hr Schedule and Hours

Weekly Hours:

7 hours per week, which includes entering and exiting jail.

Shift:

Evenings (combination of evening M-F), 4:30-7:30 pm or 5:00-8:00 pm. Classes run three hours, twice weekly.

Teacher Academy:

Attendance at a one-day Saturday Teacher Academy each semester, paid separately at the standard hourly rate and required each semester. Position Summary Placer School for Adults is seeking a knowledgeable, hands-on professional to teach introductory Construction Basics and Electrical Basics courses to adult students in our inmate education program at the South Placer Jail facility. Help justice-involved individuals gain real-world vocational skills to secure meaningful employment upon release. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Duties

Instructional Delivery:

Teach introductory construction concepts (framing, print reading, hand/power tool operation, jobsite math) and basic AC/DC electrical principles (circuits, schematic reading, multimeters, conduit bending, wiring safety).

Safety & OSHA Standards:

Teach and enforce general jobsite safety, personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance, and prepare students for OSHA-10 certification.

Tool Control & Facility Compliance:

Strictly manage all instructional materials, tools, and hardware in accordance with Sheriff's Office security protocols. Maintain daily shadow-board inventories for all tools entering and leaving the classroom.
