Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education Norwalk, CT Job Details Part-time $20 - $50 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Teaching experience with English language learners (ELLs) Spanish ESL instruction experience ESL Education English writing skills instruction Engaging lesson design (student motivation techniques) English Mid-level Adult education instructional development Learning styles adaptability TESOL Certification Bachelor's degree in English Education Curriculum implementation TEFL Working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds Instructional adaptability English language learner (ELL) student support Bachelor's degree in education Adult learning Communication skills Classroom community building Multicultural competence in teaching ESL Certification Educational content composition projects Adult language education Full Job Description Position Overview Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education is seeking a motivated and compassionate Adult ESL Teacher to provide engaging English language instruction to adult learners who come from diverse backgrounds and are family members of our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will create a supportive classroom environment that promotes language development and will help our Grassroots family members grow their communication skills and confidence for everyday life, employment, and community involvement. Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach ESL lessons for adult learners at varying English proficiency levels
  • Develop lesson plans focused on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and learning styles
  • Incorporate real-life communication skills and workplace readiness into lessons Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, ESL, or related field preferred
  • TESOL, TEFL, or ESL certification preferred
  • Experience teaching ESL or working with adult learners preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to create engaging and student-centered lessons Schedule
  • Part-time
  • Evening availability of 4pm-6pm
  • Once per week for 8 weeks in September-October Compensation
