Job Summary:
- Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Education Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction to adult learners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and deliver engaging and effective lessons across various subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and social studies, tailored to adult learners' needs and learning styles.
- Assess student academic levels and progress using appropriate diagnostic tools and formative/summative assessments.
- Develop individualized learning plans and provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with varying educational backgrounds and goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, progress, and performance data, in accordance with college and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with support staff, counselors, and other faculty members to provide comprehensive support services to students.
- Stay current with best practices in adult education, instructional technology, and curriculum development.
- Participate in professional development activities, faculty meetings, and other college initiatives as required.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Assist students with goal setting, career exploration, and post-secondary planning.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Education, or a related field from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
- Valid Georgia teaching certification or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching adult learners, preferably in a post-secondary or adult education setting.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university.
