Job Description
The purpose of this position is to coordinate program workforce activities, including those required through the Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) grant. Support will take the form of working with industry throughout the region, and with the College of Southern Idaho, to develop classes and educational opportunities for College & Career Readiness student, including English language learners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Establish partnerships with regional industry and college personnel to meet the educational needs of incumbent and/or potential employees
Develop training opportunities for English language learners
Actively promote and market new and existing IELCE classes
Develop and/or coordinate curriculum/course development, including determining overall objectives, scope of training, staffing, scheduling, and marketing
Coordinate and oversee ordering and inventory of books and instructional supplies for classes
Work with CCR Intake office to accurately track and manage student enrollments and test requirements
Maintain a positive, cooperative, and constructive relationship with CCR and college staff, students, and regional industry partners
UNIQUE FUNCTIONS
Become familiar with the College & Career Readiness/Adult Education program and standards.
Understand grant requirements.
Administer and advise students on program requirements and assessment.
Support students with identification of goals and goal attainment.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to work independently, as well as work with others when a team effort is needed to accomplish training and development goals
Ability to work with diverse student populations, including incarcerated individuals and English language learners
Possess effective time management skills, to work on simultaneous projects
Ability to work effectively with staff and students of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
Possess excellent customer service skills
Possess strong project management skills
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED
Acquire and maintain certification for CASAS assessments
Possess advanced computer technology skills
EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED
Associate's degree, required
Bachelor's degree, preferred
Experience working with industry, required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Bi-lingual (Spanish), highly recommended
