ANNOUNCEMENT

Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for English as a Second Language in the Adult Education department. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Part-time/adjunct faculty in English as a Second Language are responsible for teaching the objectives of each course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college.

QUALIFICATIONS 1.

Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Education or English 2. Master's degree in TESOL highly preferred. 3. ESL Teaching experience in an adult learning context highly preferred. 4. Knowledge of second language acquisition process required 5. Demonstrated willingness and ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies. 6. Experience teaching in a multicultural environment preferred.

PAY AND HOURS

Salary varies based on educational level and number of courses taught.

WORK LOCATION

English as a Second Language courses are offered at SWIC Belleville and Sam Wolf Granite City Campuses, and other off-site locations.
