Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Part Time Job Description Summary:
The Adult Basic Education adjunct faculty reports to the Adult Basic Education Program Director and is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops in each student the reading, analytical and critical thinking, writing, and math skills that are fundamental to life and work, and in preparing for the GED® exam.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Minimum 2 years of adult education teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred Master's degree and/or teaching certification preferred
Job Requirements:
Work schedules are available for mornings, evenings, and saturdays. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
