An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Job Description

School for the Arts (SFTA) is a growing community of artists offering classes and lessons in a variety of arts. Music lessons are a key component of our program. We are seeking an additional experienced drum instructors to teach private 30-60 minute lessons at our studios in the 2|42 Community Center in Brighton Michigan. We offer lessons from Monday-Friday with times from 9am-8pm and on Saturdays based on instructor availability. Candidates would need to be available for at least one 3 - 4 hour block during the Monday-Friday lesson times with afternoon and evening availability a must. SFTA music instructors should be fun, experienced, and professional. Our instructors have a passion for inspiring and motivating students to grow in their music journey.
