An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

We will provide leadership in cooperation with other local, regional, and state educational service agencies, as well as the private sector, to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of high quality programs and services. Branch ISD Adult Education provides students with the academic, technical, and personal skills essential to be successful in a changing and diverse society. Our goal is to help adult students build on their personal and professional experience to gain knowledge and skills needed through our various course offerings and programs. This is a part time evening position. Education and/or certification Valid and current Michigan Teaching Certificate. Meet Michigan Highly Qualified standards for teaching Math. Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in education from an accredited college/university Experience Previous experience teaching math. Preferred experience working with adult learners.
