An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Edustaff Qualifications:
Ability to work independently; self-motivated and aligned with District performance expectations Able to work in a fast-paced, stressful, and high expectation environment. Experience in a school setting is preferred. Ability to organize, and prioritize clerical and daily work assignments. Possess polite, efficient, and effective telephone communication skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Enthusiastic and positive attitude. Ability to work calmly and effectively amongst numerous interruptions. Possess and demonstrate skills in human relations with staff and students. Experience in all Microsoft and Google applications Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. Monday-Thursday (evenings)/ approx. 20 hours/week
Description:
Data entry of student data and information into PowerSchool and Michigan Adult Education Reporting System Maintain up-to-date and accurate student records and information Register, test, and track new and existing students. Conduct follow-up communication with former students to monitor progress, and share information about current program offerings. Support all academic operations Collect and document data regarding the student(s) Maintain accurate student records and databases Maintain confidentiality in processing sensitive student/staff information Additional duties as assigned
