Full Job Description Responsibilities:
  • Lead adult + child cooking classes (providing basic cooking skills to youth and including tips for adults on how to cook safely with children)
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students who may need additional help
  • Develop lesson plans and preparation of materials
  • Shift would be Wednesday evenings (Oct/Nov) & some occasional Saturdays (with potential to increase/adjust hours after the fall)
  • Hiring for multiple locations
Experience:
  • Previous experience teaching cooking skills to youth and/or adults
  • Previous experience working with children in a school, daycare, or out-of-school time program
  • Familiarity with youth development principles and positive youth development practices
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and strategies
  • Understanding of Social Emotional Learning and how to work with youth to practice and develop those skills
  • Ability to provide basic first aid if needed We are looking for a dedicated Cooking Instructor who is passionate about working with youth and supporting their development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and possess the necessary skills to lead high quality cooking classes and engages adult and youth and how to work together in the kitchen.
