An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Job Description

Youth/Adult Sports Instructor Job Summary:
Community Ed is looking for a Youth/Adult Sports Instructor to join our team! Must be passionate about your craft and willing to work with students of all fitness levels. The ideal candidate has trained in a variety of sports and worked as an instructor for several years. Create fun and effective classes and be responsive to the needs of the customers. Organized, reliable, and able to arrive at all scheduled classes and appointments on time. Responsible for leading sports classes for community members.
Duties:
Ensure the gym or field is set-up properly for class Lead students with proper techniques and provide accurate rules Document student attendance Keep accurate records on student goals and progress
Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of sports instructor experience preferred Friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills Ability to work with participants who may need specialized attention (Community Ed is a fully inclusive organization.)
Skills:
First aid/CPR training and certification preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work early mornings, nights and weekends (evening classes preferred) Positive attitude, encouraging and patient with participants when instructing Able to build positive and professional relationships with participants Position involves frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing Able to lift 50+ lbs.
