Under general supervision from the program director, the instructor will work directly with incarcerated individuals providing employability and workforce readiness instruction to adult male inmates in a correctional facility setting. The instructor will help participants develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to successfully transition into the workforce and pursue gainful employment following release. The instructor will establish professional boundaries, maintain a structured classroom environment and present employment concepts with real world application. Provide instruction in areas such as resume development, completing job applications, & preparing for interviews Develop professional communication skills Present strategies that lead to workplace conflict resolution Help students understand workplace etiquette Maintain accurate attendance Foster collaboration and good communication with detention center personnel Follow all protocols, security procedures and policies at the facility Bachelor's degree Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds Strong communication and interpersonal skills Maintain professional boundaries and exercise strong judgment Ability to successfully complete all required correctional-facility background checks, security clearances, and training. Prior teaching experience with adults Experience working with justice-involved, reentry, or other adult populations facing barriers to employment.
