An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Would you like to make a difference in the life of an adult learner? Do you have a bachelor's degree in any field? Can you dedicate a few hours a week to help adults achieve their academic goals? Then we would like to meet you! The Nashua Adult Learning Center (ALC) is looking for teachers to fill in-person teaching positions for Tuesday & Thursday evenings. We have openings for Adult Basic Education teachers who enjoy working with adults who are studying to pass the HiSET exam. Areas of study include reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Candidates should have a strong foundational math background including an emphasis on algebra, geometry and numbers and operations. We offer a competitive salary of $28.00 per hour with paid prep time, as well as a strong support team, curriculum, and books. Our students are motivated and excited learners. Come and be a part of the dedicated team at the ALC and experience the joy of teaching.

Schedule:
