Patton College of Education at Ohio University invites applicants for one Visiting Professor Position (part-time, term) for the OHIO Career Ready Campus (Aspire) program. We are currently recruiting to fill one 20-hour per week grant-funded instructor position. The Aspire Instructor position is with the OHIO Career Ready Campus located in the Patton College of Education's Stevens Center for Literacy and STEM education. The successful candidate will demonstrate capacity to instruct adult learners in classes including
  • Adult basic education
  • High school equivalency (GED®) preparation
  • Workforce literacy and readiness education
  • Transition to postsecondary education.
Curriculum is based on Ohio Department of Higher Education college and career readiness standards for adult education. The expected teaching schedule will require onsite adult education classes at Ohio University Athens Campus, Tri-County Career Center in Nelsonville, HAPCAP Social Market in Logan and industry sector/community partners. Hours are dependent on program schedules, including potential evening and weekend classes, curriculum development, professional development, as well as daytime office hours for administrative instructor tasks. Candidates should be highly organized, student-centered, flexible, adaptable, and independent thinkers. Candidates must be able to implement in person, blended, and/or virtual learning experiences based on program vision, student profile, and individual career readiness pathways of the adult learner. Successful candidate will need to pass a background check. Minimum Qualifications All

Instructors need a minimum of a Bachelor's degree to instruct adult learners. Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience preferred. Experience teaching adult learners or non-traditional students preferred.
