Butler Tech Adult Education is looking for experienced industry professionals to provide part-time instruction in our manufacturing programs. Instructors work directly with adult students, combining practical demonstrations, shop and lab activities, and technical instruction to develop skills that translate directly to today's workplace. We are interested in professionals with experience in welding, CNC machining/precision manufacturing, and electro-mechanical or mechatronics systems. Prior classroom teaching experience is not required. Butler Tech will provide instructional support and assistance with obtaining the appropriate Ohio Adult Education teaching permit. What You'll Do In this role, you'll use your industry knowledge to: Provide hands-on instruction in shop and laboratory environments using current equipment, methods, and industry practices. Demonstrate technical procedures and help students understand why those processes work. Translate complex manufacturing concepts into practical skills adult learners can apply on the job. Guide and mentor students as they develop technical competency, confidence, and workplace readiness. Observe student performance, provide useful feedback, and help learners continue improving. Promote safe work practices, quality expectations, and professional standards. Connect technical instruction to actual manufacturing environments and employer expectations. Technical Backgrounds We're Seeking Candidates need experience in at least one of the following areas: Welding

SMAW GMAW/MIG GTAW/TIG FCAW

Welding safety and proper shop practices AWS standards Fabrication and related welding practices CNC Machining / Precision Manufacturing CNC machine setup and programming Milling and turning operations Blueprint reading Precision measurement CAD/CAM or NIMS experience is beneficial Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronics PLC programming and troubleshooting AC/DC motors and controls Fluid power systems Industrial automation and control systems NEC or NCCER credentials are preferred What You'll Need We're looking for candidates who bring: Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing-related skilled trade or an Associate degree in a related technical field. The ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively with others. An interest in teaching, coaching, and helping adult learners succeed. A dependable employment history and professional approach to work. Basic computer skills, including email and commonly used workplace applications. The ability to successfully complete a criminal background check. A teaching credential is not required when you begin.
