Job Overview We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety‑focused Maintenance Engineer to join our hotel team. This role is responsible for ensuring the hotel's building systems, equipment, and physical environment are safe, efficient, and well‑maintained. Overview The Maintenance Engineer oversees the operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of all major building systems. This includes electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, IT, kitchen, laundry, and pool equipment. The role conducts daily property inspections, maintains engineering records, supports life safety training, and ensures all workspaces remain clean, organized, and compliant with brand and regulatory standards. Strong leadership, calm decision‑making, and reliable attendance are essential. Key Responsibilities Maintain all building systems and the building envelope to ensure a safe environment for guests, associates, and vendors. Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, preventive maintenance programs, SOPs, and all applicable building, fire, and health codes. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of major building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, IT, kitchen, laundry, and pool equipment. Perform preventive maintenance for guestrooms, equipment, public areas, grounds, landscaping, and the building envelope. Manage departmental budgets, maintain accurate accounting practices, and ensure proper inventory levels of supplies and materials. Maintain organized engineering records supporting PM programs, capital budgets, capital projects, life safety systems, and required inspections. Keep all engineering spaces clean, safe, organized, and energy‑efficient. Conduct daily property tours to identify and address engineering, housekeeping, or operational needs. Serve as the property's subject‑matter expert on life safety systems and provide related training to managers. Maintain a thorough understanding of brand standards and engineering‑related procedures. Demonstrate strong leadership and remain calm and effective in high‑pressure situations. Maintain reliable attendance and be available to work as scheduled. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Experience, Skills & Knowledge Vocational schooling, military training, certification, or experience in one or more building‑related trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry) required. Associate degree or related coursework in an engineering field is a plus. Hotel maintenance experience preferred. 2+ years of hands‑on experience in a comparable facility. Knowledge of hotel operations, including safety programs, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, and long‑range planning. Skilled in multiple trades such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical Requirements Frequent walking, climbing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, writing, and communicating. Ability to work in cramped, noisy locations and environments with extreme hot or cold temperatures. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
