Aspire-ESOL Part-Time AM Instructor Class Location:
Paulding Job Center (Paulding, Ohio)
General Description :
The part-time ESOL instructor will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the Aspire ESOL program in general including but not limited to: Conduct orientation and administer standardized assessments Provide classroom instruction: large group, one on one, and small groups Help ESOL students improve listening, speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English and increase their knowledge of American culture. Facilitate instruction in all areas based on individual standardized assessment results Complete goal setting with each student and assist in developing a plan including future education, training and/or employment Incorporate the use of technology into the curriculum and classroom instruction as appropriate Act as the administrator for student's distance education program Work collaboratively with the Aspire Coordinator to aid in the development of curriculum and strengthen student retention, recruitment, referral, and transition processes for post-secondary and employment opportunities
Qualifications :
Must hold a bachelor's degree Prior ESOL teaching experience Must possess an interest in teaching adults Possess good knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment used in Aspire Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program objectives and the needs and abilities of students Ability to move about the classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and peers Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students
Salary:
$28.41 per hour
