An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Part-time faculty are pooled positions; appointments are made on an as-needed/rolling basis. Summary of Position Teach courses in the Adolescent Young Adult (AYA) program undergraduate content methods courses. Provides in-depth knowledge of Content in either Math, science, Social Studies, or English. Facilitates engaging and interactive classroom experiences, fosters a dynamic learning environment. Collaborates with faculty members to enhance the curriculum and align it with industry's best practices. Stays abreast of current trends and developments in content methods to continually enhance instructional approaches. Provides timely feedback, assessment, and support to students, promoting their academic and professional growth. Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations. Qualifications and Competencies Required Certifications, Training, and/or

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned master's degree in content area or education with content experience. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
