What they do
An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Schedule requires flexibility between remote work, evening, and requires at least one weekend event a month.Summary:
Provides instruction and education to students, parents and the community.Position Responsibilities:
- Provides education according to the specific curriculum required.
- Observes actions during practice, provides positive or corrective feedback and guides towards the acquisition of skills.
- Tests for competency and provides remediation as necessary.
- Collaborates to develop educational programs that meet the needs for Virtua.
- Assists in the evaluation of existing materials and programs with a goal of providing the highest quality programs for Virtua.
Experience Required:
Evidence of good organizational and communication skills. Proficient in presentation techniques, good human relations skills, and knowledge of adult learning and group dynamics.Required Education:
High School Graduate. Specialty area may require a current RN license in the State of NJ or relevant certification.Training/Certifications/Licensure:
Appropriate certification.Hourly Rate:
$30.37 - $47.20 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
