Contract Position- GED Contract Substitute Contract Opportunity Mon & Tues 9:30am-12pm and 1:00pm-3:30pm Wed 12:30pm-3pm Fri 9:30am-12pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday Location:
Kashmere McCrane Library and Kashmere Multiservice Center Compensation:
$25/hr. Position Summary The position of GED Contract Substitute at Wesley Community Center is a contract position with a fluctuating schedule that will be held onsite at Kashmere McCrane Library and Kashmere Multiservice Center. Instructors are needed on a per-cohort/substitute basis that last between a 6-8 week span of time, 2-4 times a year. Dates of cohort cycles are to be determined and bound in agreement through contract by Instructor's availability and coordinated with the Director of Financial Stability Programs. The GED Contract Substitute is primarily responsible for the instruction of adult learners, to be provided by GED Instructor, and maintaining student progress records. The lessons are designed to improve the basic reading/language arts, math, science, and social studies skills of adult learners. All course material will be provided by GED Instructor for GED Contract Substitute to implement. Job Functions Provide instruction using the identified curriculum. Maintain student attendance records. Monitor student progress. Prepare submit and discuss progress reports as required by the agency. Possess computer skills Prepare student educational plans. Follow-up with clients in-person and via technologies. Enter data in Excel and database system(s). Lead program related presentations. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Exceptional Adult Basic Education skills required to promote basic adult instruction. Excellent communication, organizational and classroom management skills are needed. The GED Contract Substitute should treat all adult learners equally and fairly without discrimination or judgment.
