Part-Time Adult ESL Instructor- zip 77016 Tx Citywide Professional Services Houston, TX Job Details Part-time $25 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications English TESOL Certification TEFL Instructor-led training (training delivery method) ESL Certification Adult language education Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Adult ESL Instructor to provide practical, engaging English language instruction to parents participating in a school-affiliated parent engagement program. The course strengthens English communication skills for workplace readiness, daily communication, and engagement in their children's educational environment.
THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION, PLEASE READ CLASS SCHEDULE.
Only 2 Class Days Per Week (each class meeting includes an additional two paid hours for preparation time. These hours are added to the class date and do not require the instructor to arrive earlier than 30 minutes before each class or stay late. So for each Monday and Friday class, the instructor is paid for their instructional time plus 2 additional preparation hours per class date.) Class Day 1: Monday, 11:00 AM -1:00 PM Class Day 2: Friday, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Minimum Requirements Teaching/Training Experience Clear English pronunciation Preferred Qualifications TESOL, TEFL, or ESL certification strongly preferred Minimum 6 months of experience teaching ESL to adult learners Experience in community-based or parent engagement programs preferred Strong facilitation skills and cultural competence Ability to work with adult learners of varying English proficiency levels What You'll Teach using a provided workbook. Conversational English Workplace communication Vocabulary development Reading comprehension Functional writing, including emails, forms, and school communication Pronunciation and listening skills Real-life English for school, work, healthcare, and community settings Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and adaptability in teaching methodologies. Previous experience with adult education or ESL instruction is preferred. Commitment to helping adults overcome barriers to learning and achieve personal and professional success is essential.
