Job Description

Responsible for being fully knowledgeable in reading, math, science and social studies. Administers pre-tests at the various probation department sites. Works directly with students that are identified to be in need of remedial work to prepare them for the GED Exam. Provides individual instruction and tutoring as needed. Provides weekly progress reports to probation staff indicating progress. Assists with various job skills and introduction to higher education instruction as needed. Assisting and preparing for annual GED graduation. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree in an education or related field preferred. One-year practical experience in classroom teaching. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with education representatives in the community, program participants, various volunteers and other department employees. Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner. Minimum 21 years of age.SALARY:
Part-Time, $33.42 per hour, approximately 28 hours per weekSCHEDULE
Monday - Thursday, class hours are 8:30am - 12:30pmCLOSING DATE
