$24.96 - $29.96 per hour A New Way to Use Your Experience Are you ready to share your passion for healthcare and inspire future professionals? Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Career Prep Instructor for our Las Vegas campus on a convenient part-time evening schedule (10 hours per week). In this role, you will guide entry-level students through essential foundational coursework across our healthcare programs. No teaching license or prior teaching experience required—PMI provides comprehensive training on how to teach these courses! If you have hands-on experience in healthcare, medical terminology, or clinical care, this is your opportunity to transition your knowledge into a rewarding educational role. Curriculum Sequence You will instruct foundational courses designed to prepare students for academic and clinical success:

Study Skills Anatomy, Physiology, and Terminology Computer Basics Math Fundamentals CPR and First Aid Key Responsibilities Instruction & Course Delivery:
Lesson Execution:

Design and deliver lesson plans in foundation subjects using varied teaching techniques that appeal to different learning styles.

Objective Planning:

Plan instruction to achieve specific learning objectives based on student needs and established curriculum standards.

Feedback & Grading:

Evaluate and grade students' classwork, assignments, and practical tests within 72 hours.

Student Mentorship & Advising:
Academic Support:

Maintain scheduled face-to-face office hours to advise, assist, and remediate students.

Early Intervention:

Discuss academic or behavioral issues with students as they arise and alert campus leadership (Assistant Dean of Faculty/Student Services Coordinator).

Externship Oversight:

May participate in the supervision of students' externship experiences as assigned.

Departmental & Administrative Support:
Documentation:

Complete required student records, attendance tracking, incident reports, and early alert logs.

Enrichment:

Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to local healthcare facilities.

Faculty Engagement:

Participate in faculty meetings, advisory board meetings, in-service workshops, and campus graduations.

Minimum Requirements Education & Experience:

Graduation from an accredited program recognized by USDE or CHEA in the subject field AND three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in the subject area. OR A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for non-accredited program graduates.

Core Subject Knowledge:

Documented knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology through post-secondary education or practical job experience.

Equivalent Qualification:

Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that satisfies the minimum requirements.

Technical & Soft Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years of prior teaching experience in the subject field.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

None (Teaching license is NOT required).
