Location Camden City Campus Department Adult Basic Skills Program Days and Hours Monday-Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm Requisition Number Position Goals- English Language Arts (ELA) Instructor will report directly to the Director of Adult Basic Skills and will provide English Language Arts instruction for students enrolled in the Adult Basic Skills Program, helping students gain the knowledge needed to pass the High School Completion Test and earn their New Jersey High School Diploma.
- English Language Arts (ELA) Instructor will remain consistent with Camden County College's acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community's traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences.
- Employ a hands-on approach to teaching that builds students' reading competencies, including word recognition, vocabulary development, comprehension, critical reading skills, and writing skills, including five-paragraph essays.
- Administer and analyze pre- and post-assessments to determine students' proficiency foundation and progress indicators as required.
- Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations.
- Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
