Overview The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the Center for Power System Research (CEPSR) at Clarkson University invite applications for a faculty position in power systems engineering. The anticipated start date is August 2026. Applications will be fully considered until the position is filled. Applications are encouraged across the full range of faculty levels. While there is a particular need for a Professor of Practice to teach in our graduate cohort program, the opportunity exists for an appointment that includes a cous on both teaching and research. This position may be based at our Potsdam or Latham campus and is also eligible for fully remote work. You must reside in one of the following states to work remotely: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Virginia, York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin.   • Prepare and update course moodle site
  • Prepare and/or update recorded course lectures and ensure that materials are up to date
  • Prepare and present weekly live lecture sessions
  • Assign and grade homework and exams
  • Participate in development and offering of elective cohort courses
  • Assign course grades
  • Assist Program Coordinator as appropriate Qualifications
  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience in the power industry and/or power system research.
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills Essential Skills
  • Power System Engineering expertise
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Capable of using Moodle, Echo, Peoplesoft and other courseware resrouces to present distance education
  • Ability to interact effectively students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to execute tasks in a busy academic environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work collaboratively with part time distance students as well as the Program Director and the Center for Electric Power System Research Director.
  • Ability to maintain and manage confidential information.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Strong planning and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
