You will assist in determining processes, policies, and procedures for accessioning official records and personal papers collections. You will ensure the accuracy of the data in the collections management database. You will ensure that appropriate materials are preserved and all accession activities are properly documented. You will compile metrics on the collections for use in official reports and data calls. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. Qualifications For the GS-12 level: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional archivist work with appraising, accessioning, arranging, describing, preserving, publishing or providing reference service from public records and historic documents. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1. Establishing and maintaining an accurate inventory of archives using a variety of electronic record-keeping systems; 2. Developing guidelines regarding formatting and data entry protocols to be consistently used in the archives' collections management database; 3. Collecting, maintaining, and reporting information pertaining to the official records and archival collection; 4. Formulating, maintaining, and implementing archives' policies and procedures pertaining to acquisitions, accessioning, deaccessioning, collections management, and other collections accountability processes. For the GS-11 level: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional archivist work with appraising, accessioning, arranging, describing, preserving, publishing or providing reference service from public records and historic documents. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1. Assisting and maintaining an accurate inventory of archives using a variety of electronic record-keeping systems; 2. Collecting and reporting information pertaining to the official records and archival collection; 3. Ensuring the creation and maintenance of required documentation pertaining to the transfer of official government records and materials from previous donors; 4. Identifying historically significant materials and ensuring that appropriate materials are preserved and documented. Qualifications Standards Manual:

Applicants must possess Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government. or Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Education substitution for the GS-11 level: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
